Happy Halloween!

So this year we got really into the Halloween spirit. We carved pumpkins, made caramel apples, and planned the kids costumes for weeks in advance! I made a Jack the pumpkin king jack-o-lantern, and Randy made a goofy pumpkin. I know, he is boring. We took the kids around a to a few neighborhoods. We also discovered that in the south, it is actually warm enough to wear your costume without a coat over it. Also it is warm enough that people sit out in front of their houses waiting for trick-or-treaters. It is amazing!
I must say our costumes are probably the best ever! We got so many complements on the kids costumes and how creative it was.

Summer in Texas Take 2

This year we actually stayed around for the blazing hot temperatures! It wasn't as bad as last year would have been if we stuck around. The kids and I had lots of fun going to the free pools on post, playing out in the backyard, and playing in the pools in our backyard (even when they weren't dressed for swimming). The kids just love the swing-set Santa got them one year for Christmas, and they play on it almost every day! They love to swing and slide and run around like crazy kids!

July 2012

This summer we went on a road trip to the great big giant bland state of New Mexico. Now don't get offended if you love New Mexico and think that it's the greatest thing ever (Randy). I think it is just about as boring to drive across as Wyoming. That being said, we did have a good time. We went to a family reunion outside of Gallup, we spent some time in Albuquerque and also in Santa Fe. We got to go on the tram that takes you to the top of Sandia Peak. It was AWESOME!!! That was one of the highlights of the trip. Mostly because Dylan wasn't sick yet and it was at the beginning so we weren't as tired yet. Also it was July and New Mexico is hot! But at the top of the mountain it was nice and cool.

We also got to go to Santa Fe which is by far my favorite place in New Mexico! We went to the Loretto Chapel and took a ton of pictures. The only downside was that Dylan was sick and threw up during dinner. That's when we left and headed to Albuquerque to go to the Pediatric Urgent Care. Then we ended up spending the night with Dylan in the ER hooked up to an IV. That was not awesome, but it did help us to be able to make it back home the next day.
