School...YAY!

Yes, it's that time of year again. Kids are off to school and moms everywhere send out a sigh of relief. Not in our house! In our house Mom is off to school and the kids are shouting "Hooray!" They are only so excited because they get to go to daycare and play with their friends. And let's be honest, daycare is way more fun than staying at home all day! I am off to culinary school. This will be my second semester and I am actually taking a cooking class this semester. my books came in the mail the other day and I  have already started reading them. It is so exciting to be going to school for something that I am passionate about. It makes doing homework so much easier.

Yes that is a very large detailed cookbook. And I can't wait to try out some of the recipes. The kids won't be so appreciative but thats ok. Going to school will be a great diversion to keep me busy until Randy gets home. I haven't mentioned this before but he is in the Army and is deployed to Kuwait until December. We will be so happy to have Daddy home. Randy had been in the Army for almost two years and had only been home for about 3 or 4 months of that. It will be nice to be a family again. This past January we took some family pictures and here are some of my favorite.

Texas is on fire!

Ok, not literally on fire, but it is super hot. We have had like a month of 100's and higher. We are all going a little crazy from being confined to the house. Did I mention we have only been back in Texas for like a week? Carson (age 2) keeps himself busy by imagining that Buzz Lightyear and Woody are real and he goes on bike rides with them. He also likes to make as much of a mess as possible in the shortest amount of time possible. I think I have vacuumed about 8 times in the 7 days we have been home. Dylan (age 1) keeps himself busy by getting in on any action Carson is participating in, and annoying Carson to no end. I am pretty sure he knows exactly how to make his big brother scream, and he enjoys doing it. As for myself, I am obviously chasing them everywhere! I apparently have time to write a blog so it must not be too bad. I love to cook and so I will hopefully post some recipes and pictures of things that I make. I am not cooking a ton right now because it's too hot to turn on my oven for long periods of time and my boys don't care if I make macaroni and cheese with hot dogs in it or a gourmet meal. In fact I think they prefer the hot dogs. Yesterday I did get ambitious and cook something fabulous. I don't really know what to call it but it is yummy.

Chcken Something

It has chicken, mushrooms, celery, onion, and cheese in it and the kids devoured it. If you want the full recipe leave a comment and I will post it!

Starting a blog

I know, it's kind of lame, but here I am starting a blog along with the rest of the world. I am usually not one to conform. I mean I refuse to read Twilight, I will not put a feather in my hair, and, well, you get the picture. I figured this will keep me busyish and maybe give me something to do. I will give some warning though, it will mostly be me raving about how cute my kids are and how delicious food is. Isn't that what a blog is all about? Sharing these intimate details like what I cooked for dinner tonight and what adorable things come out of my two year olds mouth. Thats what I thought. If you don't want to read about these things then this isn't the blog for you.
